Efeito do chá verde na mobilização lipídica e estresse oxidativo
Resumo
Introdução: Os efeitos benéficos do chá verde à saúde, apontados atualmente em estudos, fazem com que ele seja uma das bebidas mais consumidas no mundo todo. Objetivo: a proposta do presente artigo é revisar os principais efeitos metabólicos dos constituintes do chá verde e possível utilização para prevenção e/ou tratamento de doenças associadas ao estresseoxidativo e à obesidade. Metodologia: este estudo tem caráter bibliográfico, a partir da base de dados do Scielo, Medline, Biremee Highwire. Revisão da Literatura: As catequinas vêm sendo apontadas como agentes antioxidantes importantes, mediando a função cardioprotetora do chá através de efeitos diretos e indiretos no sistema cardiovascular. Sobre o metabolismo lipídico, as catequinas agem estimulando segundos mensageiros capazes de estimular a lipólise, inibir enzimas limitantes do processo, além de aumentar a taxa de oxidação da gordura. Conclusões: o consumo de chá verde pode ter um potente efeito termogênico e antioxidante. Nesse sentido mais evidências são necessárias para quantificar melhor as dosagens e manipulações da utilização.
