Abstract

Boxing is one of the oldest sports practices in the world, and the duration of its rounds is very short, requiring its athletes to have good physical conditioning for an adequate performance. We planned our study to assess the anthropometric measurements and body composition of boxing adults of both sexes. This study is an excerpt from a project involving adults and adolescents, having been approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Maranhão, under protocol number 31056020.8.0000.5087. This is a cross-sectional study with the participation of 13 adults, of both genders, 03 male participants and 10 female participants, with an average age of 26.26 ± 7.39 years, average height of 1.65 ± 0.089m, and mean body weight of 70.32 ± 12.46kg for both sexes. Participants in the present study had anthropometric characteristics related to body composition similar to studies involving similar boxing training groups.
