Food intake of athlete’s in female volleyball team in a school’s private network of São Luís-ma, 2009
Abstract
An appropriate feeding is elemental for the great acting in the sport and maintenance of the health, with omission of meals, insufficient ingestion of energy, lack of nutrients and dehydration, they can be harmful to the health. Objective: To analyze food intake of athlete’s in female volleyball team in a school’s private network of Sao Luis-MA, 2009. Methods: They participated in the study 46 athletes of feminine volleyball, in the age group from 12 to 16 years. It was applied two methods for evaluation of the alimentary consumption. A prospective one in relation to the group. Other retrospective in relation to the individual, the Inquiry was used Remembers of 24 hours with the athletes in two different moments: one in the return of the training and other after.For analysis of the data on the food consumption the program Avanutri version 3.14, software for studies epidemic, Epi-Info version 6.04b. For tabulation and statistical analysis of the data, Microsoft Office Excel 2007 for making of the tables and graphs. Among the mainanchievements, notworthy, low power consumption, the high cholesterol and fibers. The carbohydrates, lipids and proteins, the athletes involved in the research showed appropriate values, within the range of the recommendation strip. The inadequacies found in the athletes' alimentary consumption, the energy, cholesterol and fibers, it turns clear the need of the professional nutritionist's insert in the sporting extent, with the intention to guarante a better feeding and consequently a better sporting acting for those competitors.
