Abstract

There is a constant growth in consumption and demand for these products, due to the current times of pandemic. Due to the variety of brands on the market containing different compositions, both the nutritionist and the customer may have difficulties in distinguishing the best options according to the information on the label. The present study aimed to analyze the profile of protein supplements available in the Brazilian e-commerce market. It is research in which the sample was collected from existing products on sale websites in Brazil, organized in a database and then comparative analysis of the items in the nutritional table was carried out: energy value (kcal), proteins, carbohydrates, total fat, dietary fiber, sodium and concentration of BCAAs. It was demonstrated in some 183 samples of dietary supplements available in the Brazilian e-commerce market that the WPI had a higher concentration of proteins and branched-chain amino acids.
