Body composition analysis of practioners of classical ballet advanced level

Abstract

Introduction: There are few studies that emphasize classical ballet dancer and performance of the same way that other sports and athletes are discussed. Likewise it is important to know the body composition of an athlete training for a more suitable to your needs, it is also important to know the dancer's body composition and therefore gain a more specific training. Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the body composition of practitioners of classical ballet advanced level. Materials and Methods: We analyzed the percentage of fat mass, the waist-to-hip (WHR) and body mass index (BMI) of 5 students of classical ballet between 22 and 26 years, mean weight 22.5 kg with an average height of 1.57 m and must practice at least 1h30min ballet, three times a week. Results: Most of the students analyzed in this study is considered appropriate within the relation to the percentage of fat mass, WHR and BMI. Discussion: The analysis showed that in the practice of ballet, in relation to improving the physical health of the individual, had a great result. since most of the students analyzed in this study is considered appropriate within the relation to the percentage of fat mass, WHR and BMI. Conclusion: After achieving the results, as well as information about the current situation of each student, information may be used for observation and analysis of where students are needing to improve and what training would be most appropriate for each.
