Classification of nutritional state and the body composition of practitioners of physical activity in academy

Abstract

The excellent performance of the athlete is dependent of its training and of its feeding, therefore, its training must well be planned and its feeding must contain adequate and balanced amounts, thus supplying all the necessary nutrients for the good functioning of the organism. The evaluation of the nutritional state is an important resource in the analysis of the conditions of health of one determined community. The objective of this study was to classify the nutritional state and the corporal composition of practitioners of physical activity of an academy of gymnastics of the city of Rio de Janeiro, who had searched orientation nutritional. Anamnese during the nutritional consultation was made one from which information concerning the feeding and training had been gotten, classification of the nutritional state through the BMI and percentage of fat. In accordance with the gotten value was verified the nutritional state from the classification proposal for the World-wide Organization of Health. The analysis of the percentage of fat was carried through according to equations of prediction of three cutaneous folds for men and women of Jackson and Pollack. The classification of the nutritional state of the pupils disclosed that 60.7% are presented eutróficos, above-normal 35.4% with BMI and 3.9% with BMI below of the normal one. Of evaluated population, 60.7% it presented adequate a nutritional state and 79.1% with percentage of fat standard, what it is excellent data, since the obesity has been associated to some factors of risk.
