Use of ergogenic supplements to practitioners of sports activities in the city of Teresina-PI
Abstract
The habit of practicing physical activity hasbeen increasing in amateur athletes who not only praticamntes sports activities, as well as also by people concerned about fit into a healthy lifestyle. The aim of this study was to verify the use of ergogenic supplements in gyms goers Teresina-PI. This is a survey of a cross-sectional quantitative study, conducted at two gyms in the city of Teresina, Piauí, with sampling of 100 individuals who attend gym regularly, the data were processed in Excel. It was used as a sample in a sample of 100 fitness buffs. We found the following results: 73% consumed some type of supplement, of which 75% were men and 25% women. The more supplements consumed by both sexes were WheyProtein 86%, 33% calorie and branched chain amino acids 32%. In 78% of survey participants, the supplement use is high in the group analyzed, we conclude that there is showing the need for further research focusing on aspects of consumer nutrition education supplements to increase the level of information about them and to ensure safety in their use.
