Acute effects of supplementation with stimulant drink in performance of exercise resistance
Abstract
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as "a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease." For thatwe know that physical exercise is a factor inherent in maintaining this balance. The strength development is important in this context, since it is basic physical capacity to perform various activities of daily living. Thus, the aimof this study was to investigate the effects of intake of stimulant drink (BE) containing taurine in acute resistance exercise performance, in this case, the localized muscle resistance. Participate in the study three adult males, who underwent three sessions at three differenttimes, according to the proposed strategy: 1RMtest, the maximum number of repetitions test (NMR) without the intake of BE and NMR test with the intake of 250ml of BE. They were assessed for 1RM test, for the result of the activities and for perception ofsubjective effort (PSE). The statistical analysis was descriptive. No significant differences were found in the number of sets performed in sessions, but there was a change in the PSE.
