Study of necessity of supplementation of carbohydrates in force training: Analysis of the behavior of the glycemia during training of force
Abstract
To supplementation of carbohydrates is being very common between the practitioners of weight training in academies. The objective of the study was verify itself during a training of force there is relative fall of the glycemia and consequent need of supplementation of carbohydrates. For it carry out the study were submitted to the test, 9 youths (175 ± 7.3 cm; 76 ± 7.8Kg), practitioners of weight training to more of eight months. The present work was proposed it analyze the behavior of the glucose, or better, of the glycemia during a training of weight training, working the groups, chest and biceps, in a training of three series with ten repetitions. A test of ten maximum repetitions (10 RM) was carried out 24 hours before, and the test of glycemia was carried out to 85% of the shipment of 10 RM. The collection of glycemia, cardiac frequency and scale of Borg was carried out to the end of each exercise, being that to glycemia, and the cardiac frequency also were measured before of begin the test and after a period of recuperation of 15 minutes. A meal previously was suggested, but the main demand was that students initiated the test with the glycemia of in the maximum one 110 ml/dL. To glycemia itself kept high during all the training, suffering small falls to the end and after the period of recuperation. It verified itself that there is not need of supplementary in that training, specifically, since to glycemia itself kept sufficient during all the time.
