El efecto de un programa de caminata de intensidad moderada de seis meses sobre la salud mental, la calidad de vida y la calidad subjetiva del sueño en adultos mayores no activos con diabetes tipo 2
Resumen
La diabetes tipo 2 es una enfermedad común, costosa y crónica, y las personas con esta enfermedad tienen un nivel de salud más bajo que otras personas. El objetivo de este estudio fue examinar el efecto de un programa de ejercicio de caminata moderada de seis meses sobre la salud mental, la calidad de vida y la calidad subjetiva del sueño en adultos mayores no activos con diabetes tipo 2. Estudio empírico con una prueba previa. diseño post-test con el grupo control. Cuarenta sujetos fueron seleccionados a propósito por la muestra de conveniencia. Se utilizaron tres cuestionarios estándar de alta validez y un adecuado protocolo de entrenamiento durante un período de seis meses. Los datos recopilados se analizaron mediante el coeficiente de correlación de Pearson y ANOVA de una vía. Los resultados mostraron que no hubo diferencia significativa entre las variables antes de la intervención (P>0,05), pero sí entre los grupos control y experimental después de la intervención (p<0,05). El ejercicio aeróbico regular puede ser un ejemplo de programas de promoción de la salud mental en diabéticos tipo 2 y puede ser efectivo para mejorar la calidad de vida y la calidad subjetiva del sueño y para reducir la cantidad de glucosa en los ancianos.
