La ecografía como herramienta de evaluación de la composición corporal

Resumen

La evaluación de la composición corporal es uno de los pasos más importantes para el diagnóstico nutricional y la toma de decisiones de intervención nutricional, y en los últimos años ha sido objeto de importantes desarrollos. En este escenario, la evaluación por ultrasonido (US) ha ido ganando protagonismo como un método rápido, práctico y confiable para ser utilizado en la práctica clínica. El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo realizar una revisión bibliográfica sobre el uso de la ecografía para evaluar la composición corporal, y para ello se describieron los principios técnicos de este método, para la evaluación del tejido adiposo subcutáneo (SAT) y para la medición de la músculo del área seccional (AST). cada una. Además, se describen los puntos anatómicos y los procedimientos para medir tanto TAS como AST, incluidos los puntos relevantes que deben observarse durante esta estandarización. A la vista del contenido presentado, es posible concluir que la ecografía es capaz de proporcionar un análisis preciso, reproducible y rápido de los tejidos corporales y su aplicación puede ampliarse en diferentes contextos clínicos y deportivos. Finalmente, creemos en el potencial de aporte y actualización que el presente estudio promueve para los profesionales de la salud involucrados en el contexto del análisis de la composición corporal.
