L'acido linoleico coniugato influenza la composizione corporea, il metabolismo e l'espressione genica
Abstract
È stata effettuata una revisione sistematica, senza limiti di data, sull'origine, il consumo, gli effetti e i possibili meccanismi d'azione dell'acido linoleico coniugato (CLA) sulla composizione corporea, sul metabolismo lipidico e glucidico e sulla nutrigenomica. Lo scopo dello studio è stato quello di valutare il possibile effetto del CLA sulla composizione corporea e sui suoi possibili meccanismi fisiologici di azione. È noto che il CLA è presente negli alimenti fonte di grassi dei ruminanti e che esiste un grande interesse a commercializzarlo come integratore. Gli studi indicano i benefici dell'acido linoleico coniugato per la salute, come il miglioramento della mineralizzazione ossea, la modulazione del sistema immunitario, la riduzione del rischio cardiovascolare e alcuni tipi di cancro. D'altra parte, gli studi avvertono della mancanza di studi che dimostrino la totale sicurezza nell'uso. Si osserva che il CLA può essere in grado di modificare la composizione corporea, tuttavia i meccanismi fisiologici attraverso i quali ciò avviene sembrano essere ancora poco chiari e, inoltre, non vi è ancora consenso sul suo utilizzo, e variabili sulla popolazione studiata e sul disegno del lavoro possono influenzare i risultati dell'azione del CLA. Gli studi attuali suggeriscono che la modulazione genica può influenzare gli effetti fisiologici del metabolismo e della composizione corporea nell'uso dell'acido linoleico.Riferimenti bibliografici
